When should I call a residential electrician?
Call us if lights flicker, a safety switch or breaker keeps tripping, a power point stops working, or you notice a burning smell or warm outlet. We also handle planned work like new power points, lighting, fans and renovations.
Why does my safety switch keep tripping?
Usually it's a faulty appliance, moisture getting into an outdoor power point or light, or a wiring fault. Try unplugging appliances on that circuit. If it still trips, call us and we'll track it down.
How do I know if my home needs rewiring?
Older homes with original wiring, rubber-insulated (VIR) cable, ceramic fuses or no safety switches are worth having checked. If you're renovating, it's the best time to rewire. We'll inspect it and tell you honestly what needs doing.
Can I do my own electrical work?
No. In Queensland, electrical work must be done by a licensed electrician. DIY wiring is illegal and can cause fires or electric shocks, and it can affect your home insurance.
