Hot water is a job for an electrician
Electric hot water systems run on mains power, so faults inside the access cover carry a real risk of electric shock. Plumbers often send these jobs to an electrician, because the problem is electrical.
We test the circuit, element and thermostat, tell you what's failed and what it costs to fix, and get your hot water back on.

Hot water questions
Why is my electric hot water not heating?
The most common causes are a failed element, a faulty thermostat, or a tripped circuit breaker or safety switch. Check your switchboard first. If nothing has tripped, call us and we'll test it safely.
Should I call a plumber or an electrician?
If water is leaking from the tank or pipes, call a plumber. If there's no hot water and no leak, it's usually electrical, and that's our job.
Is it worth repairing an old system?
Replacing an element or thermostat is usually much cheaper than a new system. If your tank is over 10 to 15 years old or rusting, we'll tell you honestly if it's time to replace it.
Can I reset the thermostat myself?
No. The thermostat sits behind a cover with live mains wiring. Leave it to a licensed electrician.
